Broome Associated Insurance AgencyIn 1969, Frelon Broome took a risk and established his own business so he could nurture it with the values of integrity, friendly service and pride in a job well done. The Frelon Broome Insurance Agency prospered because of these values. Frelon's son Bob joined the agency in 1973, and as trusted advisors and advocates, they built a local business which stood stronger than the hardships of a shifting economy. Broome Insurance Agency is not only a firm of proven professionals, but a team of caring, conscientious people; the kind of individuals you can depend on.

In 1986 the Frelon Broome Agency joined together with two other local family owned agencies, Associated Insurance Agency operated by Clarence and Rick Roberts, and Hickory Insurance Service run by Bob Zorn and his wife. Thus was born Broome Associated Insurance Agency.

In 1991, Bethlehem Insurance Agency was merged with Broome Associated Insurance Agency. Later, in 1996, Atlas Insurance Agency, which was established in 1947 by D. Howard Murphy, joined Broome Associated Insurance Agency as well.

In 2004, Morrow Insurance Agency of Hickory, which was founded by David Neal, joined Broome Associated Insurance Agency. Our last merger took place in the fall of 2004 with Fidelity Insurance Service of Hickory, which was created by Charles J. Asp. Today Broome Associated Insurance is a full-service Independent Insurance Agency with a staff of 25 specialists.

As a locally owned Independent Agent, we do not work for an insurance company, we work for you. The agency now provides security and protection for over 5,000 individuals, families and businesses in the Catawba Valley Region. We have long term relationships with a carefully selected group of financially sound and reputable national and regional insurance companies.

Our primary objectives are:

To be honest and fair in all our dealings,
To be interested in people and their problems, and
To treat the client's needs as if they were our own.

Our staff is trained to analyze needs and utilizes computerized multiple carrier rating that compares numerous competing insurance company rates to offer the best possible value. State of the art technology is also used to improve workflow and customer service. All staff is required to be licensed by the NC Department of Insurance. The agency finances and encourages professional designation program training and also uses continuing education to hone our technical skills. We are always willing to respond to the needs of our insured's in a timely manner. We are large enough to serve you professionally, yet small enough to care.
