As a member of the financial services industry, Broome Associated Insurance Agency is subject to federal and state privacy laws regarding the collection and exchange of your personal information. We are committed to protecting the confidentiality of the medical and personal information of our clients.

Broome Associated Insurance Agency gathers necessary data from you and from vendors that are subject to the same laws of the “Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996” (“HIPAA”). In doing so, our agency only exchanges such information with other insurance related parties that are similarly obligated to adhere to the HIPAA laws. Our agency and the firms we work with have procedures in force to keep all treatments and exchanges of your information within the requirements of these laws.

As we place your insurance with our carriers, all parties involved work collectively and separately to retain use of your information only for the activities necessary to underwrite, issue, and service your policy. The insurance companies we represent are required, under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, to adopt their own, formal privacy policy and to disclose that policy to you.

As a responsible business organization, our agency utilizes security measures to deter external efforts to enter our systems. We also use a bonded document shredding company to discard confidential documents on site.
